
Upon her return to Sierra Leone after attending the 38th African Union (AU) Summit and the 29th General Assembly of the Organization of African First Ladies for Development (OAFLAD) in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Sierra Leone’s First Lady, Dr. Fatima Maada Bio, credited her achievements at OAFLAD to her husband, President Dr. Julius Maada Bio.
Dr. Fatima Maada Bio expressed deep gratitude for her husband’s unwavering support, describing him as her greatest source of encouragement. She stated, “Your constant support, guidance, and belief in me have been my foundation.
You are not only my life partner but also my biggest motivator in this journey of service. Your leadership, vision, and dedication to our nation inspire me endlessly, and for that, I am forever thankful.”
She also extended her appreciation to the people of Sierra Leone for their trust and solidarity. “I am deeply moved by the love, trust, and support you have shown me.
Witnessing thousands of you come out to welcome us back is a moment I will treasure forever.
Your presence, cheers, and belief in our work motivate me to continue striving for the progress of our beloved nation,” she said.
Reflecting on her role at the OAFLAD General Assembly, where she was honored with a continental leadership position, Dr. Fatima Maada Bio emphasized that her accomplishments were a collective victory. “This success is not mine alone; it belongs to all of us who believe in transformation and the boundless potential of Sierra Leone,” she remarked.
She pledged to continue advocating for initiatives that uplift communities, empower women, and secure a brighter future for the next generation. “We will keep championing causes that drive progress and ensure a better tomorrow for all,” she concluded.
